Special Use Airspace for the Netherlands

These have come from a variety of different sources, and they are provided "as is". Prudent pilots will, of course, check these values with the contest organizers and - especially - continue to keep their eyes outside the cockpit.   Files to facilitate loading of GPS units and flight computers are also provided; however they have not all been uploaded to the respective manufacturer's hardware and verified.

Here are two nice disclaimers that I came across, and which certainly apply here:

Caveats aside, we hope that this collection will facilitate your flying, and invite you to send along any suggestions, corrections, and new data to John Leibacher ( john.leibacher@gmail.com ). Fly safely!

1. Version 8,6: ( effective 2008-06-05 )

2. Map
3. Notes:
  1. Lower limit of Dutch Mil TMA's A, C, D and E (class B) is raised from FL065 to FL095 from FRI 1700 to MON 0000 LT and during legal holidays (This does not apply to TMZ A, C, D North and E, which are not included in this file. As a result gliding above FL 065 in EHAA FIR is not possible during weekdays ánd weekends without Mode S transponder). Be careful: Upper limit of Dutch Mil TMA B is always FL065, airspace above Dutch Mil TMA B is Amsterdam CTA East classification A!
  2. Some parts of Dutch airspace in this file have several classifications, the more restrictive of the classifications in such cases should be used.
  3. Operating hours of controlled militairy aerodromes, designated MIL CTR and MIL TMA, are MON-FRI 0800-1645 LT excl. legal holidays. Check NOTAM's for up-to-date operating hours. Outside these hours contact Dutch Mil INFO on frequency 132.35 before entering class C/D airspace.
  4. Outside of operating hours of controlled militairy aerodromes Aerodrome Traffic Zones (ATZ) are established to protect local air traffic. Crossing air traffic shall remain clear of the ATZ. Dimensions are radius 2 NM up to 1500 feet AGL. Also civil ATZ's are established around Budel, Lelystad and Schinveld aerodromes. Only ATZ Schinveld is included in this file.
  5. In order to protect certain kinds of air traffic or special air activities Special Rules Zones (SRZ) are established. Refer to AIP/VFG or aeronautical charts and NOTAM's for procedures, dimensions and locations.
  6. Refer to NOTAM's for activation and dimensions of Restricted and Danger area's.
  7. Temporary Reserved Airspace (TRA), Temporary Segregated Area's (TSA), Cross Border Area's (CBA), EHD 41's, EHD 42, EHR 4E, MIL&CIV Low Flying Area's (GLV) and Civil Simulated Forced Landing Area's are not included in this file.
  8. This file includes Gliding Area's in Beek, Deelen and Eindhoven CTR. Contact local clubs for info about activation, procedures and limitations. Shown as parts of their respective CTR's class C. Also included in this file is VFR Area SChiphol TMA 1 (see AIP for details).
  9. Caution Area's Niederrhein 1 & 2 (the German and the Dutch parts) are included in this file. Caution Area Niederrhein 2 is only active if runway 09 is in use at Niederrhein (EDLV, check ATIS).
  10. A Caution Area is class E airspace with the following recommendations:
      a) Aircraft should activate transponder on mode A/C 7000.
      b) If no transponder on board contact Langen Radar in German airspace on 128.5 for air traffic advisory or Dutch Mil in Dutch airspace on 132.35.
      c) If unable to adhere to recommendations a) or b) avoid the Caution Area.
  11. Transition Altitude in Amsterdam FIR is 3500 MSL for VFR Air Traffic.
  12. EH-D62/63: DURING IRREGULAR TIMES DETONATION OF EXPLOSIVES WILL TAKE PLACE. DETONATION OF SMALL EXPLOSIVES NEED A SAFE ALTITUDE OF 1000FT AGL. WHEN DETONATION OF BIG EXPLOSIVES TAKES PLACE A SAFE ALTITUDE OF 3500FT AGL IS NECESSARY. BEFORE THE DETONATION OF BIG EXPLOSIVES VOLKEL/GILZE-RIJEN ATC OR MILATCC NW MILLIGEN (OUTSIDE OPR HRS OF VOLKEL/GILZE-RIJEN ATC) HAS TO GIVE PERMISSION ON REQUEST. FOR CROSSING THE REEK/RIEL AREA BETWEEN 1000 AND 3500FT AGL INFORMATION ABOUT THE ACTIVITY OF REEK/RIEL CAN BE OBTAINED BY VOLKEL/ GILZE-RIJEN ATC OR MILATCC NW MILLIGEN (OUTSIDE OPR HRS OF VOLKEL/GILZE-RIJEN ATC).
